A bridge. It’s important to mankind’s day-to-day activity in a modern world. But, a bridge can also be symbolic and represent humans’ connections to one another.
For Northeast Montana Health Services Charitable Foundation, a bridge is a part of their slogan – Bridging Healthcare and Community – but, it also has meaning in connecting our communities to the best healthcare available in Northeast Montana. And recently, a new bridge has been built at the Charitable Foundation, as retiring Executive Director Beth Pickthorn guides incoming Director Brandi Lynn Wilkinson over the bridge to healthcare and community.
Pickthorn has been at the head of the Foundation for the past 10 years. She has raised more than $500,000 during her time at Northeast Montana Health Services. Much of that money has gone to purchase new healthcare equipment that would not have been available to our Northeast Montana communities. Pickthorn started a number of successful campaigns, as well, including the Festival of Trees and Dinner on the Green. And while she says she has enjoyed her time with the Charitable Foundation, she looks forward to new adventures in retirement including spending time with her daughters and grandkids and traveling.
Brandi Lynn Wilkinson comes to the Charitable Foundation with many years of marketing and public relations experience. A local gal, who loves her Eastern Montana roots, Wilkinson has spent most of her career in television and radio broadcasting and teaching at the college level. Locally, she worked at KVCK, Fort Peck Community College, and a summer or two at the Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce and the Circle Banner. Wilkinson is looking forward to continuing the great traditions set by Pickthorn at the Foundation, while creating new fundraising events for the community.
As Pickthorn and Wilkinson meet in the middle of that healthcare bridge to hand off the reins of the Foundation from one to the other, the only thing both ask of the community is to continue to support the Charitable Foundation. Come to the hosted events. Buy raffle tickets for fundraisers. Donate your time and finances. After all, quality healthcare is a boon to all of us living in Northeast Montana, and the Charitable Foundation helps bring the latest equipment and innovations in healthcare to the region. However, they know they couldn’t do it without a connecting bridge between healthcare and our communities.
